A Japanese entertainment company with origins in 1940 Honolulu (Standard Games), relocated to Tokyo in 1952 as Service Games of Japan, restructured on May 31, 1960 and June 3, 1960 into Nihon Goraku Bussan + Nihon Kikai Seizō (doing business as "Sega"), and renamed Sega Enterprises after the 1965 Rosen Enterprises acquisition. Now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings (formed October 2004 via merger with pachinko manufacturer Sammy Corporation). Headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Haruki Satomi has served as CEO since April 2015. In January 2024 Sega Sammy announced the transfer of Sega's Amusement Machine business to Sega Toys Co., Ltd., simultaneously renaming Sega Toys to Sega Fave Corporation; the transfer took effect in April 2024. Sega Corporation continues as the video-game publisher and console operator; prize-figure and amusement-machine work now ships under Sega Fave.
