Privacy Policy
Japan Finds Direct · Last updated July 17, 2026
This policy explains what information japanfindsdirect.com collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run a collectibles store and its community features, we don't sell your personal information, and your payment card details never touch our servers.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, display name, and profile details you choose to add.
- Order information — what you bought, your shipping address, and order history. Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal; we receive a confirmation and transaction reference, never your card number.
- Activity on the Site — things the features need to work: your collection shelves, wishlist, game plays and rewards, XP/points, messages, and reactions.
- Whatnot purchase history (optional) — if you ask us to link your Whatnot username to your account, we match your past Whatnot purchases from our seller records so your supporter history shows on your account. This is entirely opt-in and reviewed by hand.
- Technical basics — standard logs and anonymous usage analytics that keep the Site fast and working.
What we use it for
- Fulfilling and shipping your orders, and sending order emails.
- Running account features: profiles, collections, games, gifting, messages.
- Customer support and resolving order issues.
- Loyalty recognition (XP, points, tiers).
- Keeping the Site secure and preventing fraud and abuse.
What we share (and don't)
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that operate the Site on our behalf: payment processing (Stripe, PayPal), shipping and labels (Shippo and the carriers — they receive your name and address to deliver your package), transactional email (Resend), and our hosting and database infrastructure (Vercel, Google Firebase). Each receives only what its job requires. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
What other users can see
Japan Finds is a community, so your Public Showcase and community-safe sharing features start on. This can include your display name, avatar, figure shelf, collection targets, wish list, favorites, media activity, public notes, handles, achievements you display, and a sanitized view of figures held in your Warehouse. Each sharing control can be turned off when you add something or changed later, and Settings can hide your whole Public Showcase or remove you from Collector Spotlight.
Sensitive details stay private regardless of those community defaults: sign-in and payment information, email address, shipping addresses, order records, direct messages, support evidence, gift messages and sender details, Whatnot history, tracking details, and internal Warehouse or fulfillment records are not shown to other users.
Cookies
We use the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in, keep your cart, and remember preferences. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
Your choices
- You can turn off sharing for individual content, hide your Warehouse Showcase, leave Collector Spotlight, or hide your entire Public Showcase at any time.
- You can ask us to unlink your Whatnot history. Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may also request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal information. Send the request through the contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
- We respond to privacy requests as required by applicable law. If we cannot complete all or part of a request, our response will explain why and describe any available appeal process. Records we must keep for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legal obligations may be retained as required.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Meaningful changes will be announced on the Site.
