About this figure family
Square Enix's flagship line of highly articulated collector action figures, built around its own games and licensed Western heroes, at roughly 25cm with deep detail.
Play Arts Kai is Square Enix making the case that a video-game character deserves a serious action figure. The Kai generation rebuilt the earlier Play Arts with far more articulation and finer paint, turning Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts leads, and later Batman, Marvel, and Halo, into poseable, screen-accurate pieces around 25cm tall.
It became the line collectors reach for when they want a game protagonist they can actually pose, and the reason Square Enix is taken as seriously for figures as for the games behind them.
