A Japanese record label founded in January 1931 as a division of Kodansha, with the label name derived from Kodansha's Kingu (キング) magazine published 1924-1957. Headquartered in the Otowa district of Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. One of Japan's largest record companies not owned by a multinational entity. The Starchild label is the anime-music sub-label, historically managed by animation producer Toshimichi Ōtsuki, and is the imprint through which King Records carries most of its anime-music and voice-actor / idol-singer footprint. Current leadership: Kohei Furukawa (古川公平) as Representative Director, Chairman & President and Junnosuke Miyamoto (宮本純乃介) as Representative Director and Vice President. For figures, King Records' role sits primarily as anime-IP production-committee participant, exclusive-release IP partner, and music-label rights holder rather than as a direct sculpt-and-mold figure manufacturer.
