Best known internationally for Sylvanian Families (launched March 20, 1985; sold as Calico Critters in North America), and domestically for Yakyu-ban tabletop baseball, Aquabeads, and licensed character-toy work including Doraemon video games and merchandise. Headquartered at 2-2-2 Komagata, Taito-ku, Tokyo. Michihiro Maeda is the current Representative President. Sylvanian Families has presence in more than 50 markets. For figure-collector directory purposes, Epoch is a general-toy and game manufacturer rather than a collector-tier scale-figure producer; scale-figure-relevant work appears only occasionally in retailer catalogs under the Epoch name.
