Espresto is Banpresto's prize line for the detail-minded, the part of its output that fixes on a single female character and tries to render her with what its own tagline calls ultimate realism that satisfies the heart. Banpresto frames the line as focusing on a character's appeal and extracting every bit of care into the figure, and in practice that shows up as an obsession with surface, the way a fabric, a texture, or a finish reads in plastic.

That texture focus is written right into the release names. Espresto figures arrive subtitled Clear Materials, Fluffy Materials, Jewelry Materials, Glossy Body or See Through Materials, each one foregrounding a different finish on the same idea. It launched in early 2019 and has leaned on adult-heroine casts since, the iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Re:Zero's Rem and Ram, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Sword Art Online and One Punch Man's Tatsumaki and Fubuki among the regulars.

The line carries a web of themed sub-series rather than one fixed format, Espresto est and its Extra Motions offshoot for the more pose-driven releases, plus Sweet Bloom, Sweet Moment and Motions labels that tag a given run. The common thread is the same texture-and-pose ambition, applied to whatever the subtitle calls for.
