This is Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, the second Gear 5 entry in Banpresto's King of Artist line. King of Artist is the sculptor-showcase series, and this volume puts the white-haired form low in a crouched, coiled pose rather than the usual mid-laugh. The compact stance reads like the moment before one of those impossible cartoon punches gets thrown. It released in July 2024, in the thick of the Gear 5 figure wave, and the pose is what separates it from the dozens of standing versions. He is about six inches in the crouch, PVC and ABS, non-scale. King of Artist pieces trade height for sculpt detail, and the energy in this one comes from the wind-up. Display him front and low, where the pose points at everything else on the shelf.
