Japan
A Japanese anime-merchandise company founded October 1983 with 10 million yen initial capital, operating as a core entity within the Animate Group corporate cluster centered on the Animate anime-retail chain. Headquartered at 1-18-1 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo 170-0013 — the same Higashi-Ikebukuro Toshima-Ward cluster where sister company Frontier Works operates. Ryu Takahashi serves as Representative Director (代表取締役). Operations cover the planning, production, wholesale, publishing, and sales of character merchandise across anime, comics, games, and talent — including trading cards (a core offering from inception), figures, CDs, acrylic stands, badges, plush, clear files, character goods, and related promotional materials. Figure work concentrates on male-character and idol-anime properties (Uta no Prince-sama, Touken Ranbu, Ensemble Stars, IDOLiSH7, and similar franchises) that the Animate retail channel under-serves elsewhere. Format covers conventional scale figures plus articulated, chibi, and prize-line work where the IP demands. Distribution runs primarily through the Animate retail network (in-store and online), the Movic direct store, and selected non-Animate retailers. Co-funded Libre Publishing on May 1, 2006 alongside Animate and Frontier Works to keep Biblos Co., Ltd. operating after the April 5, 2006 bankruptcy.
