AUV is the Megami Device wave that draws on Japanese deities, building its characters around figures like Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Arriving as a later wave in the line, it carries the series' armored, weapon-laden format into mythic territory, the regalia and motifs pulled from Shinto myth rather than the line's usual science-fiction cast.
