The Bishoujo Statue line is Kotobukiya's long-running collaboration with illustrator Shunya Yamashita, and the premise is a translation: take a character from outside anime, a Marvel hero, a DC villain, a Street Fighter or Tekken fighter, a horror-movie icon, and redraw her in Yamashita's soft anime style, then sculpt that interpretation as a figure. The appeal is the gap between the source and the result, a Bishoujo Wonder Woman or Chun-Li looks like she stepped out of a different medium.

Marvel and DC anchor the line, but it has reached across Mass Effect, Star Wars, the Universal monsters and more under sub-banners like Marvel Bishoujo, DC Comics Bishoujo and Horror Bishoujo. These are pre-painted display statues, typically around 1/7, and the line has run for well over a decade as one of Kotobukiya's signatures, still adding new Western and game characters.
