A Tokyo toy company founded on July 5, 1950 by World War II veteran Naoharu Yamashina, now operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings after the 2005 merger with Namco. The hobby and adult-collector figure business was spun off into Bandai Spirits in February 2018; Bandai Co., Ltd. now heads the parent's Toy & Hobby business unit and operates from a Taito, Tokyo headquarters.
