A Shizuoka-based Japanese model-kit manufacturer with corporate ancestry going back to the 1924 Aoshima Airplane Research Institute founded by Jiro Aoshima. The plastic-model business was incorporated as Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Inc. in 1961 and re-established as Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd. in 1986. Daisuke Aoshima is president. The catalog spans car, aircraft, naval, and military scale-model kits alongside anime, tokusatsu, and sci-fi mecha kits.
