AniGift built its early identity on the VTuber boom. Distributed in Japan through the retail giant AmiAmi, the maker put out scale figures of virtual YouTubers when few companies were treating them as figure subjects, among them Kagura Nana, Inuyama Tamaki, Nijisanji's Honma Himawari, and the independent star Kano. Turning a livestreamer with a devoted following into a faithful scale figure became the studio's calling card, the figure standing in for a performer who exists mostly on screen.
